Safety Guidelines – Updated 6/15/21
In order even to worship in person safely, we will follow these (somewhat eased) guidelines:
· Masks that cover the nose and mouth will be required of everyone except small children. (Masks and hand sanitizer will be available for your use.)
· Length of worship will be less restricted, up to fifty or sixty minutes.
· Offering plates will still be near the front and the back of the meeting room.
· Please continue to sit in designated pews only.
· Feel free to linger and chat in the aisles, hallways, and/or outdoors.
· Once again we have printed bulletins with the order of worship, etc.We will continue to include the order of worship in The Light This Week,so that you maystill print it out and bring it with you or access it on your phone.
· Are we ready to resume coffee or carry-in meals? Not yet.
Please stay home if
· you are unable or unwilling to comply with these guidelines,
· you are uncomfortable about or have health reasons to avoid attending worship even with the guidelines,
· you are sick,
· you or anyone in your household has been diagnosed with COVID-19, or
· you have been in contact with someone over the past two weeks who has been diagnosed with or is showing symptoms of COVID-19.
Also, be assured that we will continue live streaming worship for the foreseeable future, and we will continue to monitor the pandemic situation, especially emerging virus variants.
Questions and suggestions are welcome. Prayers too!

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY
Parents may drop off younger children at the nursery on the 3rd floor (directly above the choir room). Childcare will be available from 9:45 until about 15 minutes after worship concludes. Children who can stay with parents during the service are invited to do so through
the children’s message, then exit to the upstairs children’s area where parents may meet them after the worship service.
Nut free & gluten free snacks will be provided. (Bring diapers if we might need them). We will continue to observe social distancing (as much as reasonable) and masks for adults. There is not a restroom on the 3rd floor, so we will have hand sanitizer available and/or take the group of children down a level for a handwashing/potty break before their snack.
We plan to have childcare also during the Sunday School/Monthly Meeting time.
For other questions or concerns, feel free to contact: Greg Newby, Pam Chambers, Sue Wine. Looking forward to being together! ~ Children’s Ministry Working Group

Dear Friends,
Children’s Ministry is seeking volunteers to work in the nursery, share a children’s message followed by a lesson, and/or be a backup helper. Please use the following link to add your name. Volunteers may come up with their own message and lesson or we can provide a lesson for you.
Thank you, Children’s Ministry Working Group

Everence to hold Gifts that give back webinar
Tuesday, August 3 at 6:30 p.m.
Many make charitable gifts to support their favorite causes and organizations. Some choose to extend their charitable giving further by designating dollars for charity in their end-of-life plans. But did you know there is another type of gift plan that generates income for the donor and then sends a gift to charity at a later date? Come to this workshop to learn more about “Gifts that give back” and whether it is a strategy for you!
This webinar will be hosted by Mitch Stutzman, Everence Stewardship Consultant.
This webinar is free. Please register by contacting our office at 877-467-7294, 316-283-3800 or central.kansas@everence.com.

Family Promise Host Week is Sunday, August 8, through Sunday, August 15.
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much to everyone who has signed up and those keeping our families in their prayers! It looks like we have all of our volunteer slots accounted for, but we do need a bigger August 8 Setup crew. Also, if you’re trained and would like to be on our backup list in case we need someone to fill in at the last minute, please email your contact info to Erin at eddicreative@gmail.com so I can add you to our mailing list. We will try to have an in-church meeting on the Saturday before host Sunday so we can get acclimated to everything again.
Thanks to all who have given their time and energy for our church’s mission to help those in homeless situations in our community—it means a lot! Thanks again and see you soon!
Erin DeGroot, Family Promise Volunteer Coordinator – University Friends Church
*Immediate Need*
We are in need of new hand towels and washcloths to give to the families that we serve. If you would like to help, you can bring your donation by the Day House. Thank you!!

The Book Club is taking a summer break. If you have suggestions about timing (7:00 or 7:30 maybe rather than 6:30), format (in person or via Zoom), or book titles for the fall, please let Catherine know (orcagriffith@yahoo.com).
