Neighborhood Talent Show provides delightful evening out

On October 4th, University Friends Church put on a neighborhood talent show conceived and hosted by local actress and UFM member, Sarah Wine. Some of the acts included a small ensemble from the Friends University Jazz department, dance numbers by the Kansas Kountry Kloggers and children of the congregation, a violin performance by Molly Loesch, poetry reading by Michelle Barrett and a hilarious Shakespearean monologue by Dan Schuster.

A huge thank you to Sarah Wine for directing and putting the event together, Sarah Wolfe & Erin DeGroot for the artwork on the flyers, John & Sue Wine for the hay bales to sit upon, Joe Dawley for sound, and Michael Barrett for live streaming the show. Big handclaps to all of the people who performed! And a special thank you, Michelle Barrett for having the Sunflower Espresso Coffee Shop Food Truck provide refreshments. You made our first talent show a fun, relaxing and much-needed social escape, and we are so blessed by everyone’s generosity.
