On Sunday, January 10, at 1:00 p.m., we will have a Threshing Meeting to discuss the possibility of Friends University assuming responsibility for and use of University Friends’ building. The meeting will be on Zoom.
As part of the Quaker tradition, threshing meetings are opportunities to talk over an important matter without the pressure to make a decision. They are times to consider pros and cons as well as to raise questions and concerns. (We had one in March, when we were thinking about how to respond to Mid-America Yearly Meeting.)
Remember that relevant materials, including the university’s proposal, are available on the church website (http://wichitaquakers.org/friends-university-the-future-of-the-ufc-building/). We have recently added a letter to the congregation from the Transition Team, published in the May issue of The Light.
This discussion is important. Please make every effort to attend. And … keep praying.
