“For the beauty of the earth,
For the glory of the skies,”
Last week was rainy and after a few days of rain it can be hard to be excited about it and to see how much of a blessing it is. Our lesson this week is about creation and looking at creation to see how beautiful each piece is.
Our story today begins at the very beginning. The very first story ever told. “In the beginning”…see I told you. “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. (Gen 1:1 NIV)” When God first made the earth it was dark. So dark you could not see anything! There were no stars, no moon, no sun, no lights. It was DARK!
“God said, ‘Let there be light,’ and there was light. God saw that the light was good. (Gen. 1:3-4a NIV)” Then God decided to separate the light from the darkness. God created day and night. God gave us light for the day and dark for the night.
Today, is cloudless so far. Go outside and observe the sky. Does it look the same no matter which direction you face? Are the shades of blue different? Next, watch the sunset. Does the sky change? Finally, try going outside after the sun is down. Does it look different? What were the most beautiful parts each time you looked at the sky.
