Hello, Friends…
After thoughtful consideration, these are the plans for the next few weeks:
- We are not going to open the meetinghouse on March 22 and March 29, in keeping with the 10-person-limit guidelines from the White House.
- On those Sundays, we will live-stream an abbreviated worship service at 10:00 a.m., with a message and prayer from Catherine, some silence, and some music.
- For Palm Sunday (April 5) and Easter (April 12), we plan to provide a virtual service of scripture readings and YouTube music.
- Andrea will put together some online children’s activities for these next weeks as well. Look for those on Facebook and the new website (http://wichitaquakers.org/).
- Remember that church expenses continue even while we’re hunkering down. We appreciate friends mailing in their contributions that they would normally give in meeting for worship. Current options for contributing include sending a check in the mail or using online banking. We are also working on getting a ‘donate’ button on that new website.
- Office hours are limited. Please feel free to leave a message on the answering machine so we can get in touch with you.
- Finally, know that we care about you. We’re considering other options for making connections within the congregation as we keep social distance. What would be helpful to you? What might you offer to others? You can reply to this email and we will receive it in the office.
- Conditions regarding the virus we’re all worried about are changing rapidly. We will continue to monitor the situation, make plans accordingly, and let you know what’s happening when.
